Hellmuth discusses TGPC

2010-03-26 16:39:36

Phil Hellmuth has outlined his progress in forming a new poker alliance called Trying to be the Greatest Poker Club (TGPC).

Writing for his official blog, the pro said he is attempting to induct a number of the world's best players into the group in an effort to universally improve members' performances.

The Poker Brat launched TGPC with fellow professional Brandon Cantu, but claims he has since incorporated a host of well-known faces, including Huck Seed and Ted Forrest.

According to Hellmuth, he spent an hour or two learning how modern opponents play from Cantu, admitting that it was eye-opener.

"It was really cool to see what the new kids have done with mathematics in poker!" he remarked. "Now I know they are moving in weak and I have to call them!!"

Hellmuth is currently the only player to have accumulated 11 World Series of Poker bracelets, with both Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan holding ten each.
