Negreanu praises Big Game format

2010-03-29 13:49:43

Daniel Negreanu has stated the format for a new high-stakes poker television show is unique and will allow some of the better online players to get exposure.

Writing for his Full Contact Poker blog, the card sharp said PokerStars' The Big Game will intrigue fans, admitting he himself "absolutely [loves] it".

"We've been working on this concept for quite some time now and I will bet big money you guys are going to freaking love this show!" he remarked.

According to the Canadian, the buy-in will be $100,000 minimum and $500,000 maximum and is likely to be six-handed, although this may change on occasion.

The twist is that one of the players will be someone from the internet, he added, who will be staked $100,000 with which to play.

Any money they earn they get to keep, the four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner explained, but if they shed cash they get nothing.

There are likely to be some crazy moves at the end of the show if the net qualifier is low on chips and has nothing to lose, he commented.
