Brunson: I miss poker

2010-04-07 14:56:08

Doyle Brunson has admitted he yearns to get back to playing some poker after taking time away from the game.

Writing for his official blog, Texas Dolly said he has only played three times since his wife Louise travelled to Hawaii to escape her allergies.

"I'm afraid I'm not cut out for a slow-paced lifestyle," he remarked. "I've been on the go all my life and really miss the poker action."

According to the ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, he sat down at Bobby's Room at the Bellagio for what used to be the $4,000-$8,000 game.

However, it seems today's pros are looking to try lower limits, he explained, so now a $400-$800 mixed structure is more common.

"I just like to play," Brunson stated, adding that he is more than willing to reduce the stakes if it means more action.

The card sharp has been largely away from the poker scene in recent months due to recovering from teeth and gum surgery, as well as looking after his wife when she became sick.
