Jason Mercier wins NAPT High Rollers event

Jason Mercier has picked up $450,000 for winning the North American Poker Tour High Roller event at the Mohegan Sun casino.The $25,000 buy-in tournament was a winner-takes-all affair, in which the first-place finisher took home all of the prize money left over after "bounties" were removed.
Those at the table were given $5,000 bounty bonuses for each person they knocked out of the competition.
Mercier collected seven scalps, including runner-up Sam Stein, who failed to recover from a coin-flip hand where he held ace-jack to his opponent's pocket threes.
The board gave Mercier a straight and Stein only managed to survive another two pots before being sent to the rail.
Florida-based Mercier, who won a bracelet at last year's World Series of Poker (WSOP), held the chip lead going into the final table, but his fortunes changed on a number of occasions before he landed the title.
He pocketed close to $250,000 at the 2009 WSOP $1,500 buy-in pot-limit Omaha event.
