EPT Grand Final is still on

2010-04-21 15:41:04

The European Poker Tour (EPT) has revealed that its flagship event, the Grand Final in Monte Carlo, will still be going ahead.

Fears had been rising over the last few days that the volcanic ash drifting from Iceland will interfere with travelling to the location.

But, the EPT has confirmed that it will start on April 25th as scheduled and it is changing its usual no refund or exchange policy to reflect the unpredictable nature of events.

The tournament's organisers will allow online qualifiers who cannot make it to get credits for future events, although they will need to prove that they could not find suitable travel arrangements.

And those who have bought a full package, including hotel room, can give it to another player.

The penultimate event in the EPT calendar in San Remo is currently down to the final table, as Alan Baekke's attempt to win back-to-back titles came up short, with the Dane finishing 12th.
