Liv Boeree bows out in Monte Carlo

2010-04-29 10:03:36

Liv Boeree has revealed her disappointment at getting knocked out of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final in Monte Carlo.

The card sharp had a career-making win in EPT San Remo last week, becoming only the third woman to win on the tour since its inception in 2004.

"I'm disappointed, as anyone would be when they are knocked out of a tournament earlier than they think they should have been," she added.

Boeree only made it to the second day of competition before busting out and so she failed to capitalise on the momentum she had generated.

The 25-year-old, who has a degree in astrophysics from the University of Manchester, did manage to salvage something from the event though as she has been given an invitation to a satellite event in the region.

American Nick Schulman is the current chip leader of the prestigious tournament and he will be hoping to get his hands on the €1,700,000 ($2,250,000) top prize.
