WSOP to offer tutorials 'to improve skills'

2010-05-06 15:45:44

People looking to improve their chances of cashing at this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) have been offered the opportunity to get training from professionals.

Annie Duke, Greg Raymer and Mark Seif are just three of the names taking part in the WSOP Academy, which will be hosted on May 28th and 29th.

It was incepted in 2007 and this year promises to be the biggest event yet.

Duke noted she is proud that graduates from the scheme have gone on to win poker tournaments and had numerous cashes.

She added: "I love teaching the ladies event, where we get to discuss winning strategies ideally suited to women, in a non-threatening environment."

There will also be interactive seminars and video presentations about the importance of conquering the mind and body in the sport.

Duke recently became the first woman to win the NBC Head’s Up Championship, which ended a six-year drought for a victory.
