Theo Jorgensen out in front in WPT Paris

2010-05-13 14:39:46

Theo Jorgensen is leading the World Poker Tour (WPT) Grand Prix de Paris after four days.

All 25 players left in the poker tournament were guaranteed a payout, but the field of pros knew that if they could make the final table then the big money would be within their grasp.

Eight men are now left to compete for the €633,902 ($780,000) first prize, but Jorgensen has a massive chip lead.

It marks something of a change in the recent structure of WPT events, which have generally seen six-handed play take place at the final table.

Ilan Boujenah was the unfortunate person to go out on the bubble, after the board did not run for him and he was eliminated in ninth place.

He held over one million chips but decided to get into some hefty pre-flop action with Jorgenson before they both went all-in with ace-nine suited and pocket jacks respectively.

The WPT will be visiting London for a leg for the first time later in the year.
