Tony G is looking forward to World Team Poker contest

2010-05-17 09:59:32

Tony G will be representing and co-captaining Australia in the World Team Poker event.

The poker tournament pits 40 of the best players in the world against each other along national affiliations.

And the card sharp, writing in his official blog, noted the team buy-in is $50,000 and they will be playing limit hold'em, pot limit Omaha and no limit hold'em.

"It's going to be very entertaining and the event will be televised," he added.

The Australian also remarked that he will put a lot of effort into winning the opening contest at their year's World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Unsure as to exactly how many events he will take part in during the WSOP, Tony G stated the $50,000 on the first day will get all his attention.

He recently observed that he was back to his "brutal best" after a series of good displays in "mega sessions" of cash games alongside the likes of Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu.
