Daniel Negreanu reveals how to tame "loose cannon"

2010-05-19 11:23:40

Daniel Negreanu has revealed how to keep the "loose cannon" in the Big Game in check.

Writing in his Full Contact Poker blog, the Canadian noted the novel idea - which sees an online poker qualifier bankrolled to compete - had to be thought out to ensure he or she did not ruin the event as a spectacle.

His first concern was that if a player is leading, it is possible for him or her to stall every hand. To counteract this, the person is forced to play 150 hands.

Another issue was the possibility of the competitor continually moving all-in pre-flop if he is running out of rounds, but no professional is going to look at their cards in this situation.

Kid Poker revealed the way around this dilemma was straightforward enough - making the betting pot limit until after the flop.

The four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner observed that every angle has to be covered to ensure that the best possible television is made.
