Charity poker tournament for Vegas

2010-05-21 13:31:26

A star-studded charity poker tournament will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in July.

The 2010 Ante Up For Africa Celebrity-Charity event was created by Hollywood actor Don Cheadle and current NBC Heads-Up champion Annie Duke and it is now in its fourth year.

It pits accomplished poker professionals with the biggest names from sport, TV and film, with the likes of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Ray Romano expected to feature.

This no-limit hold'em competition has an entry fee of $5,000, with the winner taking away a six-figure sum as well as helping out disadvantaged individuals.

"We created this event to make a positive impact on the lives of those in Darfur and throughout Africa. I am delighted the event continues to grow every year," Duke said.

Daniel Negreanu, Tony G and Doyle Brunson have all recently come out observing they are looking forward to the World Series of Poker.
