Katja Thater is the EPT Mixed Games Player of the Year

Katja Thater has won the Mixed Games Player of the Year title in the European Poker Tour (EPT).It is designed to reward individuals who have enjoyed good results in some of the less well-known versions of the sport, such as badugi, triple stud and eight game.
EPT Berlin runner-up Ilari Tahkokallio and Joe Hachem, the 2005 World Champion, came second and third respectively in the event, which was completed online.
Thater won a trip to Tallinn, Estonia, which will host the first leg of the next season and it is also where she will be presented with her trophy.
A total of eight different games were played during the final of the poker tournament, including limit razz, limit stud and no limit hold'em.
The German had to compete in the competition after an eight-way tie emerged at the top of the leaderboard, as no card sharp managed more than one victory all year.
