Vanessa Rousso explains WSOP strategy

Vanessa Rousso has revealed she is a bit more open when playing lower buy-in large-field no-limit hold'em poker tournaments at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).The card sharp, also known by her screen name of Lady Maverick, told Poker News that as she has a higher skill level than the majority of people competing, she likes to be a little bit more "experimental".
Rousso explained she is willing to call a raise more often for two reasons - the blinds are still relatively low and she is aware that her stack is above average in a weak field.
"Against a weak field like in a $1,000 buy-in, I think it's more important to use variance reduction and keep pots small," she remarked.
The poker pro is currently competing in the WSOP, where she will be looking to build on her record of 11 money finishes and clinch her first bracelet.
