Phil Laak chasing endurance record

2010-06-03 16:20:41

Phil 'The Unabomber' Laak is trying to write his name into the history books.

The card sharp will look to beat the record for playing the longest session in the sport's history, as he seeks to topple the current record that was set by Paul Zimbler of 78 hours.

It will be taking place at the Bellagio, Las Vegas and Laak - who famously played the first day of the 2008 World Series of Poker main event in a mask - will be hoping to raise money for the charity Camp Sunshine.

Poker professional Terrence Chan told Bluff Magazine he thinks Laak can break the record, stating: "The human body can put up with pretty much anything in the short-term."

Anyone is free to play the card sharp during his challenge, which may prove as much a battle of mental exhaustion as physical too as he tries to go four days without any sleep.
