Liv Boeree was 'schooled' by Duke

2010-06-04 12:32:07

Liv Boeree has revealed fellow female player Annie Duke helped her when she was trying to become an established star.

The card sharp, who shot to fame after winning the European Poker Tour San Remo event, told Bluff Europe in an interview of Duke's influence.

"I had some lessons in 2008 with Annie Duke at her house in LA. I stayed with her for a week - a really intensive course, it was fantastic," she added.

Boeree was able to learn a lot about strategy, bankroll management and mathematics from her trip to see the current NBC Heads-Up Championship holder.

As her talent has progressed, Boeree now wants to win a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and find time to learn more about the game.

Another female competitor at the WSOP will be Vanessa Rousso and the French-American recently told Poker News she plays more aggressively when entered into lower-level poker tournaments.
