So here it is the pinnacle of the poker calendar, the widely most anticipated event of the year – The World Series of Poker’s Main Event.
Where thousands of poker players converge from across the globe to battle it out for a share of a $68,798,600 prizepool, an 18-karat gold diamond encrusted bracelet and with it the title of champion of the world.
This year’s WSOP Main Event started on 2nd July and was open to anyone with a cool $10,000 buyin at hand. The event is now into its 4th day of a possible eight, where the coveted November Nine will then be decided.
InterPoker’s resident pro Juha Helppi is assertively deep in this year’s WSOP Main Event, with over 693,000 in chips, he’s sitting in a very respectable 76th out of 574 remaining players.
The current blind levels stand at level 17 at 3000/6000 with an ante of a 1000. With Juha sitting quite comfortable, he still has a lot of movement within the tournament. No doubt, at this stage of the tournament Juha’s level headedness, even temperament and ability to remain patient will be key to ensure his further progress through the ranks.
So far, this year’s WSOP Main Event has seen a total of 7,319 entrants, with Juha now playing in the final 10% of that field, he still has a long way to go, but the Inter Poker Team know if anyone can do it then it’s our man Juha ‘IceMan’ Helppi!
Other notable players still battling it out include Jonny Chan (1,159,000) who is going for his astonishing 11th bracelet, Praz Banzi (660,000), David Benyamine (329,000) and Sammy Farha with (377,000).
Notable exits include Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonuis, Phil Helmuth Jr and Daniel Negreanu.
Watch this space to find out How Juha gets on over the coming days.
