With the November Nine just around the corner and what almost seemed destined to be Juha’s year, it all came to a heart-rending head earlier on today when Juha busted out in 86th position.
The “IceMan” played tight throughout using every inch of his poker savoir-faire and expertise to further himself through the field, but in the end it just wasn’t enough when he came up against two vital hands that were to dictate his ultimate exit.
Juha picked up TT in the Cut-off and raised, only to be pushed all in by the 20BB button holding Q,Q, Juha called but to his dismay, was then left to only 9BB.
Picking up A,8 in the very next hand Juha decided to push all in, and again the dreaded ladies - Q,Q popped up again, this time on the big blind. With the big blind then calling, Juha was left with a 30% of winning the hand, which never came - nothing short of a cooler.
For his admirable efforts Juha still managed to cash for a very respectable $79,806 and Juha himself says “The future looks good, I played better than ever before!”
A huge congratulations for all his efforts from everyone here at InterPoker, and we’re sure this is just the beginning for Juha “IceMan” Helppi.
